craft: create fall greetings

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

The only time of year that I send out cards is Christmas, and occasionally when I remember in time, I send out a birthday card. Crafters would rather DIY than pay $4 for a greeting card but how often do we really make an entire suite of cards for every holiday and send them out? My guess is that we don't - we're too busy buying the paper to make the project!

So in the spirit of harvest, thrift, and creativity, I made eight cards to put in the mailbox before Thanksgiving this year. A wonderful friend handed down her light box and just this week a carrying case of nearly 100 metal stencils to use for embossing! How lucky can a girl get?! So I put the cricut to sleep, plugged in my light box and cuddled up on the couch with a stylus and paper.

  1. Happy Fall! I love your frugality these days. It's fun to get extra creative by using what you have.
