celebrate: shower me with love part I

Monday, February 14, 2011

There comes a time in a person's life when the spotlight shines a little brighter. I experienced a little bit of unfamiliar attention as the bride-to-be at my first bridal shower this weekend hosted by my best friend and maid of honor (same person). As a testament to our honeymoon destination, she put on a Parisian bridal shower full of macaroons, chandeliers, cheese and wine.

This table is a dream come true with sandwiches from Sweet Affair Bakery and sweet goodness from Walnut Creek Baking Company. The black and white table runners are a homemade addition with sale fabric from Ikea.

The cannoli-like dessert is the Portuguese version made by my mom! All you need is puff pastry, bakery store custard, and powdered sugar. The secret incredient is actually the metal funnel tube that you wrap the puff pastry around which is from Portugal.

The party favor included flower seeds and a metal tin to grow your flowers in. See the tutorial here.

And what kind of French party would this be without macaroons? These were so beautifully stacked on this little glass cake stand.

My beautiful friends and family traveled from the South Bay, San Francisco and the Central Valley to share this day with me!

Thanks to MW and MJ for taking pictures of the day, and to CM for being such a wonderful host and making everyone wish that their maid of honor was as beautiful and thoughtful as you! I love you.
