Inspired by Ombre

Today, I learn about Ombre.

Since becoming a Pinterest addict (Hello, my name is Debbie ...), I have seen a theme of blending colors on bags, with objects and even an amazing shower curtain. With a little more research, I learned that this trend is called "Ombre", a French word meaning shading (not to be confused with the Spanish word for man, hombre). Ombre is used to describe color-bleeding or drip dying fabric by subtlety fading colors into one another.

Searching Ombre in Pinterest will get you various forms of the technique, including hair, fabric and gardening. This is an amazing process and when done accurately, can be incredibly pretty. Here are some of my favorites:

Trapped in North Jersey also has an impressive listing of projects on her blog and Green Wedding Shoes just this week posted a great collection of Ombre-inspired wedding ideas. Happy searching!
