In honor of paper, one such detail can be made for the top of a cake. My project today is a former save the date turned cake topper. My friend A.S. is getting married next month and we had a little work shower for her that included a yummy cake. Here is the save the date postcard:
I offered to personalize the cake by cutting out the graphic in her save the date (created by Karl Johnson at cutarts.com) and mounting it on cardstock. I taped two toothpicks on the back and then glued a second piece of cardstock on the other side to cover the toothpicks.

All I needed was the cake and voila! I unique and simple DIY caketopper! Rumor has it that this personalized cake topper will be used in the future ...

So cute!
