craft: august colorful paper cuts

Monday, August 27, 2012

Can you believe that August is closing shop and we're already replacing summer closets and planting spring bulbs (well, I'm sure some of you are). It's that time of month for me to look back on the milestones that the month had to offer and count my blessings for the people in my life. First, a great big thank you to my BFF for watching Kitty while we made our yearly East Coast trip. I even included a small starfish that I picked up in Provincetown, Mass.

A big congrats to our friends M and J and their growing family for the purchase of their first home together in Massachusetts.

The much-anticipated wedding of our friends A and D resulted in a lot of creativity, but I also shared some of my own with our card. Here, the envelope received some mixed patterns and marital messages. Below is the card that we gave them made from the wedding invitation and the bakers twine used to wrap the invitation suite.

Birthdays were also big this month. My cousin's little girl turned 5 years old and started kindergarten in the same week!! My other cousin's not-so-little-girl anymore turned 18 years old and went away to college the same week!!

And last but certainly not least, a wonderful friend and her husband welcomed their son last week! This card is especially unique because a friend knows how much I enjoy repurposing materials and she gave me cards from her son's first birthday party that were too precious to throw away. So this little giraffe is seeing another fun event!

Yeah to August!! I very much look forward to a fun-filled September!

  1. So many cute cards, IHB! My favorite is the thanks with starfish! I am inspired by your unique use of the twine. Going to try to use mine more.
