home: the summer never ends ...

We just finished cleaning up from our annual summer party, and while moping the sticky kitchen floor, I realized that summer is just about over and I never shared our summer mantel on IHB. Sorry about that! But I'm glad that this post took its sweet time because TWE just sent me this amazing West Elm vase to brighten up the space. And then I got a matching blue vase (because it's sad to be standing by yourself on a mantel).

This cute little watercolor was a $10 find at a Santa Barbara art event one summer weekend. And the mirror is a homemade project by the Mendes siblings. Enjoy the story here.

Just because the kids are back at school, the stores are selling Halloween and Fall decorations, and we need to bring a lightweight sweater to backyard bar-be-ques, doesn't mean we still can't invite summer into our homes. Hold on to summer my friends!!

  3. I love every single thing on this mantel! I am so lazy about changing mine up - you've inspired me to get off my butt!

Popped over from House of Hepworths!

  5. What a fun collection. I love the water color you picked up, it's truly lovely! It's still nearly 100 degrees here in Utah, so I don't think we will be giving up on summer anytime soon. In fact, I rarely change out the decor until late September and then I just skip straight to Halloween :)

Thanks so much for sharing your post over on Show & Tell at SNAP!
