craft: how to accordion circles

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Black, orange and purple are the Halloween colors of my heart, so naturally my mantel will pull from these vibrant hues. With a few extra bright colored pieces hiding in closets and boxes, I turned this focal location into an eye-catching scene. This year's mantel was a fan favorite, and for those of you asking for directions on the accordion banner, here are the details from this year's Halloween mantel.

First you need one (1) sheet of paper cut to the following specifications:
When finished, you will have two (2) 6" x 5 1/2" accordion sheets. Take those two sheets and fold them again, just freehand. Get a good fold there.
Then you need to make these two stay together. I use Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive for all paper products! If the pesky paper gives you trouble, use a staple in the back to keep it together. Glue at the following four places:
Add some jazz to the circles with free printables from online, like the bounty of ideas that I have collected on Pinterest.
