home: welcome october and halloween

Monday, October 1, 2012

California is having some gorgeous weather! This weekend, we enjoyed 80 plus degree weather and we crossed the San Francisco Bridge to Bridge finish line in sunshine! So you can't blame me for not embracing the Fall decor just yet. First comes Halloween and that means my favorite purple, orange and black combo made it up this weekend.
The chalkboard sign is three 12"x12" sheets of black scrapbook paper taped together and a little chalk freehand.
This was my first vinyl project with the Cricut and although it was a little tough to wrap a letter around the round pumpkin surface, it turned out great, even my freehand jack-o-lantern. This way, I can pull off the vinyl after October 31 and work on the Fall mantel.
I really love the look of accordion circles. This Halloween combination was a perfect candidate for the 3-D circles and the graphics are downloads from Paper Squid - for free!

  1. Love all the colors you used. Very festive. Found you via Making the world cuter.

    Thanks doll,

  2. Adorable! I love the banner over the mirror and of course the vinyl on the pumpkins!!

  3. Great chalk-board sign. that looks so nice, and it's so easy!

How did you make those 3-D paper circles? they look like a great quick project for any graphics to be hung in!

  4. Well, @Julianne, perhaps a tutorial this week!?!? I'll get that up!

  5. amazing! I can't believe you free-handed that chalk board sign. so cute!
