diy: spring accessories for little ladies

My craft soul sister is back and this new doggie mom has been busy getting her four-legged family member used to living with two cool people (hey B!), so I'm stoked that she was able to join this week's party!! Michelle from TWE shines again with her amazing crafty inspiration!

This spring, one of my best friends is having her first baby, and it’s a girl! I am trying pretty hard not to go overboard with cute girlie items before the little lady arrives, because her mom is a stylish but trying to be a very practical mama. That doesn’t mean I can’t spoil her with handmade goodies!

I found cute ideas for bows and flowers on Pinterest and came up with these little accessories using felt, ribbon and embroidery thread. All of the accessories are flat on the back with no clips or headbands, so I purchased some Girlie Glue for her to stick them on! Learn how to make yours here, here and here.

I used a page from my 2012 Paper Source Wall Art Calendar to make a cute little box to hold the accessories and glue. Tied up with a pink ribbon it’s ready for the baby shower!

Here’s another project I put together inspired by this pin and my love of reusing 6-packs! This can be as fancy or simple as you choose. I used an Izze pack, 4 beer bottles and some craft paper and lace.

Because I like the look of brown bottles, I chose not to spray paint. I soaked the bottles to remove the labels. I found a killer deal on a small bunch of flowers at the store (post Valentine’s clearance, perhaps?) and arranged them in the bottles. I then wrapped the Izze pack with craft paper and vwa-la a a sweet little gift. This would be great as a housewarming gift or if you need an easy way to transport flowers!

  1. Girlie Glue! what a good idea! Especially since my little girl has no hair!

  2. Why didn't they have Girlie Glue when my daughter was a baby. No matter how much pink I put on her some people still thought she was a boy. No hair. lol Thanks for sharing at Transformed Tuesday.
